Cookie Policy

What noctixal.com stores in your browser, why, and how long it stays there.

1. What we store

noctixal.com does not use third-party cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics scripts. We store the following items locally in your browser, never shared with anyone:

  • noctixal:cookie-consent (localStorage, persistent until you clear it). Your cookie banner preference. Set when you click a button on the banner. Removed if you clear browser storage.
  • noctixal:estimate (sessionStorage, until you close the tab). The estimate you build in the wizard, so the contact form can attach it as a brief if you choose Send as brief.
  • noctixal:brief-note (sessionStorage, until you close the tab). The pre-filled brief text that accompanies your estimate.
  • noctixal:home-scroll (sessionStorage, until you close the tab). Your scroll position on the homepage, restored when you navigate back from the About page.

That is the full list. Every one of those four items is strictly necessary functional storage. None are used for tracking, advertising, profiling, or third-party analytics.

2. Why we ask about cookies at all

Under Luxembourg law (the CNPD’s interpretation of the e-Privacy Directive), strictly necessary functional cookies do not require consent. We show the cookie banner so you know exactly what is being stored on your device, not because consent is legally required for these specific items.

If we ever add a non-essential cookie (for example, third-party analytics), the banner will gate that cookie behind explicit opt-in consent. Today there is nothing of that kind on the site.

3. Third parties

None. No Google Analytics. No Facebook Pixel. No Hotjar or Clarity. No Stripe element on the marketing site. The estimator wizard runs entirely in your browser.

Fonts are self-hosted (JetBrains Mono Variable, via @fontsource on our own server). No request goes to fonts.googleapis.com.

4. Hosting and server logs

Our server (Hetzner Online GmbH, Germany, EU) keeps short-term technical logs for security and reliability: IP address, timestamp of the request, the path requested. These logs are not used to build a profile of you and are deleted on a rolling basis.

5. Changing your preference

To withdraw or update your preference: clear localStorage for noctixal.com in your browser settings, or use the cookie banner if it reappears.
