What noctixal.com stores in your browser, why, and how long it stays there.

1. What we store

noctixal.com uses no cookies, no tracking pixels and no third-party analytics.

Only two things are written in your browser.

The scroll position. Every page you read records where you were in your browser’s sessionStorage, under the key nx-scroll:<path> (for example nx-scroll:/en/cookie-policy/), so that the Back button returns you to that spot. A nx-keep-scroll key is written the same way when you switch language, and it is removed as soon as the next page has restored the position. sessionStorage is cleared the moment you close the tab. These values are never sent to our server.

The configurator draft. When the configurator is available and you start configuring a project, it keeps your work in progress in your browser’s localStorage (keys beginning noctixal:, for example your answers, your selected slots and your draft), so that reloading the page does not lose it. It stays until you clear it or your browser’s site data is cleared, it never leaves your device, and it is sent to us only if you submit the configuration yourself.

That is the full list. Both are strictly necessary functional storage. None of it is used for tracking, advertising or profiling.

Audience measurement. We measure the site’s audience with a self-hosted instance of Plausible Analytics (stats.noctixal.com, on our own server in the EU). Its script loads on every page. It sets no cookie, writes nothing in your browser and builds no profile. Details in the statistics section of the Privacy Policy.

2. Why there is no cookie banner

The site stores only the strictly necessary functional items listed above. Under Luxembourg law (the CNPD’s interpretation of the e-Privacy Directive), strictly necessary functional storage requires no consent, so no banner is shown. The audience measurement changes nothing here: it writes nothing at all in your browser, so there is no storage to ask your consent for.

If we ever add a non-essential cookie (for example third-party analytics, or any service that sets a cookie), a consent banner will gate that cookie behind explicit opt-in consent. Today there is nothing of that kind on the site.

3. Third parties

No third-party analytics. No Google Analytics. No Facebook Pixel. No Hotjar or Clarity. No Stripe element on the marketing site. The configurator runs entirely in your browser.

Audience measurement runs on a self-hosted instance of Plausible Analytics (stats.noctixal.com): no cookies, no browser storage, no profile, and the data never leaves our own infrastructure. See the statistics section of the Privacy Policy.

Fonts are self-hosted (JetBrains Mono Variable, via @fontsource on our own server). No request goes to fonts.googleapis.com.

Apart from noctixal.com, the only outgoing request the site’s pages make goes to stats.noctixal.com, our own subdomain.

4. Hosting and server logs

Our server (Hetzner Online GmbH, Germany, EU) keeps short-term technical logs for security and reliability: IP address, timestamp of the request, the path requested. These logs are not used to build a profile of you and are deleted on a rolling basis.

5. Erasing what is stored

There is no consent preference to give or to withdraw: everything listed in section 1 is strictly necessary functional storage, and the site shows no cookie banner.

To erase these items: the scroll position disappears by itself when you close the tab, and the configurator draft is removed by clearing localStorage for noctixal.com in your browser settings.
